Day 16 in MIT Sloan Fellows Class 2023, Learning from our cohort -3

Background

He comes from the insurance industry and not sure it's a typical personality in this industry, but he is a really responsible man. Our team could not have gotten to the delivery of the report without him.

Power of empathy

His ability to empathize and, most importantly, empower others' opinions is a strength that no one can match.

He can be a bit conservative because of his industry. He may be more inclined to follow the most solid route possible rather than try something drastic. (Still, he's probably pretty liberal among those in the insurance realm.)

Initiate cooperation

He is accustomed to Westen's low context communication but is flexible enough to follow the Asian way of doing things in a high context. There is no doubt that his personality and sense of responsibility make him a unique leader.

And he has the incredible beauty of incorporating the good points of others after stating his own opinion, no matter how opposing the views are. I think his unique advantage lies in his partial incorporation of opposing views rather than total rejection.

And he has a clear vision for his career. He will use his domain knowledge of insurance as he moves up the career ladder.
