Day 15 in MIT Sloan Fellows Class 2023, Learning from our cohort -2

This blog is not about lectures.

I am writing about some of our diverse and talented cohorts and will introduce their background and what inspired me.

Background

She is an experienced consultant from India. We both work for clients and experienced various business entities, so we easily get into case studies.

Between calm and passion

Basically, she is a great critical thinker and tries to understand and resolve the problem precisely. However, what really inspires me dramatically is her unlimited passion to improve herself and our team. She does not hesitate to change her path to her goal.

Silence before her opinion

The combination of a brief pause before she speaks and her targeted opinion has the effect of a great presentation. She may have had this ability inborn, or she may have acquired it in her consulting work. Whatever the case, the client who hired her as a consultant is probably lucky. Not only is she a great problem solver, she is also a rare storyteller.

Due to her former job, she sometimes seems to be a little bit conservative. Rather than jumping into uncertainty, she really needs a clear path and more safety options. However, she never gives up on improving and growth of herself. Clearly, she does not like gambling and this is the biggest difference from me.

This diversity empowers our team as well. Risk takers tend to be appraised recently, but so many risk takers have died and failed in history. The important thing is a balance. Not individual balance, but a balance as a team.
